During a conference call this week, my manager said, “Erica, I know you think those meetings are formal enough but I think we’ll need to make them even more formal with our other clients.” I had no idea what she meant exactly but because there were some client representatives on the phone, I couldn’t really dig into the subject with her at the moment. Not that I could have asked her just then because the comment caught me completely off guard and my mind went racing down the track of figuring out if I’d messed up on something. She and I have worked together for years and I’d never heard an issue about not being formal enough. I don’t know that I heard much of the rest of the meeting and I knew I wouldn’t have an opportunity to catch up with her about this comment for a couple of days based on our schedules.

Google is a Giant Help Desk
The process of learning how to create Squidoo pages absolutely absorbs you in learning more about the web and how all things connect. I’ve read so many how-to pages on Squidoo and followed tips from a number of them. One lens suggested that various question and answer websites had do-follow links. If you’ve ever tried to drive web traffic to your own site or page you already know the importance of do-follow links. If you don’t, you should.

So Much To Do, So Little Time
Yup, that’s an original title, isn’t it? But I seem to be out of originality at the moment. I’ve decided to go for Giant status on Squidoo and need to have a minimum of 50 quality lenses done by the end of June. I have 18 published lenses and that took me two full months to accomplish. I’ve improved my speed at putting out lenses, but I’m afraid quality will suffer if I go to fast. The past couple of days I’ve done a lot of legwork in coming up with some lens topics and I think I have about 8 lenses that are “work in process”.

Please Don’t Call Me Mom
If you’re a mother, and a loving one at that – is it okay (just every now and then) to wish your kids could suddenly not utter any forms or variations of the word “Mom”? I would still love them and all. But just for an hour, if they could be in the house and not have that word come out of their mouths, I think I’d have to call Guiness and report a new record.
I think it only becomes bothersome because “Mom” is almost always followed by an action verb and it’s a verb that applies to me. Rarely is it just “Mom, I love you”. It’s attached to a task that I must do. Sign something, settle something, clean up something, go get something, wash something, think of something, find something, fix something.

Nesting
I feel like I just moved into a new house. I just updated my blog “theme” and that’s no easy task if you have no idea what you’re doing. It still needs work but pretend I’ve just emptied the boxes and haven’t quite got the dishes actually in the cupboards yet. Just take my word for it, this blog looks very different from what it looked like earlier today. Sadly, I put this blog up over a month ago and I still had my default links hanging out for all the world to see. Not that the world has been by to visit. I did have one visitor and he couldn’t even leave a comment because I hadn’t quite figured out how to set those up.
I think comments are enabled now. I think.
